Last night I launched Gearkata. Again.
Gearkata lets users create lists of stuff they should bring along on adventures, with the intention that no one ever forget some key piece of gear again. Create a checklist, pack your stuff, check it off.
The site comes back after a two-year hiatus and one complete re-write from the ground up. The old version was over-encumbered by functionality I thought it should have, but was never very happy with, which is why it disappeared in the first place.
Though at best alpha quality as of the time of this writing, I’m much happier with the new version. Everything is simpler and cleaner, and I’ve already used it to plan one kayaking trip and am currently using it to plan a three-week vacation. Functionality will be added as I need it.
If you use Gearkata and have any thoughts about it, please don’t hesitate to let me know: Twitter.
